Turn Your Radio On...

It has been a while since the last post, but we have been very busy at the patch! God has been so good to us this year, and we give Him all the credit
for the great season!

We also have some other exciting news!
About a month ago, I (Hollie) sent an email about our farm to a man who has a radio program on a Christian station. He has started a monthly "Farmer Friday" where he dedicates the whole hour to farmers and wants to hear from farmers and hear their stories. He encouraged farmers to email him, so I took the time to write out our story of how the pumpkin patch came about. They were very interested in our story, and they contacted me about being on their program and
talking about our patch.
So, tomorrow, Friday, October the 25th, at 3 p.m. ET, tune into Moody Radio,
and you will be able to hear me speak about our Patch!!
I am attaching the link to the website where you can find all the information about how to hear the program live, or if you are not able to, you will be able to hear the podcast after the program has aired.
I will try to post a new blog with the podcast linked when I am able.
I know for central Indiana, the radio station is 97.9 FM, but it might just depend on where you are located.

Thanks for listening if you are able!!

P.S.
I am working on some other blog posts, so keep watching for more!! :)

Hi Holly! I enjoy your interview today on WMBI, great testimony! Girls so need to hear about being a keeper at home! It is our true calling and where we find all our fulfillment! May God continue to richly bless your family and the patch. My daughters and I grew a large garden and sold the produce and eggs when we lived in the country. We all have fond memories of that time. I had to raise the price of my eggs to 2.00 a dozen because I had more customers than eggs :) Take care, Love your sister in Christ Jesus, Gigi

Thank you so much, Guilene! It was a great experience to be on the radio, especially on ChrisFabryLive!
Yes, you are exactly right! I am hoping and praying that God will use my words to encourage someone or bring someone to the Lord!
Thank you again for your sweet words!
Your sister in Christ,
Hollie

I just heard you! Great job and what a great family business. My grandparents had a farm just outside of New Winchester until my grandpa passed away - I think that's right down the {country} road from you. :-) blessings

I was listening to Moody Radio and heard the Proverbial Pumpkin Patch featured on Farmer Friday. It is such a blessing to know that there are Christian Farms in the area. I will definitely be visiting your Patch and looking forward to some home-made pumpkin pie.

Just heard you on Chris Fabry. You stood out as a homeschooler when you first spoke and said "yes sir" We just took a leep to begin homeschooling our oldest-5 year old. Greetings from the desert in southern California! Godspeed!

Thank you so much!! Chris Fabry told me he appreciated the "yes sir", but he didn't quite like being called that! :) Yes, it is a big step to start homeschooling, but just keep trusting in the Lord! May the Lord bless your endeavors!

Hello Holly,

I am a Youth Pastor in South Florida, and heard you on Moody Broadcasting during Farmer Friday and was inspired to teach some proverbs at our Wednesday night Youth Ministry, while carving pumpkins as a youth group. We we then have a contest at our Fall Festival on Halloween night. Do you have any favorite Proverbs that you think would challenge my youth. It is so hard to narrow it down. May the Lord bless your business and Glorify His name greatly.
Psalm 29:2
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.

When picking verses to put on our leaf tags, I like to pick verses in a wide range of topics. Some encouraging. Some challenging. I start fresh each year and read through the Proverbs as I type out verses onto the leaves. For use in a Youth Group, I think verses that contrast wickedness/foolishness with righteousness would be good. (Proverbs 12:5, 15:6, 21:26, 13:20, 15:7, 14:16, etc). Young people need to see that their choices lead to consequences. In talking about choices with my children, I often ask them which road are they walking on . . . the righteous path or the wicked path. I also think challenging the youth with the many verses on the tongue would be good. (Proverbs 16:24, 15:1, 15:2, 15:4, 15:7, etc.) Besides the Proverbs on our leaf tags, we also pass out a recipe card that describes how to "carve a pumpkin". I will post some more detailed information on this card in our next blog post.

Hi Hollie,
I enjoyed your conversation with Chris Fabry. As an only child, who raised an only child, I admire so much large families who work and play together. I am from southeast Tennessee and have a great business relationship with a family similar to yours who runs the daycare where I take, believe it or not...my dog. The Munck family, from Cleveland TN owns "Great Doggie Doos," They have a blog as well and you might enjoy going to their web site at www.greatdoggiedoos.com. Blessings to you and your family as you represent the Christian family so beautifully.
