4 Dishes You Don't Have to Make for Thanksgiving . . .

Because We Can Do It For You!

In many ways Thanksgiving is a simpler holiday to celebrate than Christmas.  There is little decorating that needs to be done and there are no presents to buy.

However, Thanksgiving can still be stressful.    Remembering all of the ingredients for those delicious Thanksgiving dishes can be  daunting.     And coordinating the oven for all of those dishes is  even more challenging!

Here at The Proverbial Pumpkin Patch, we can  relieve many of those burdens from your Thanksgiving preparations.    We are baking four dishes for Thanksgiving, so that you don't have to!

1.  Delicious Homemade Pies

Pies are our specialty.    We personally grow the pie pumpkins that we use in all of our pumpkin pies.    After cooking the pumpkin, we mix the puree with many other  wonderful  spices and bake it in one of our own homemade pie crusts.    Delicious!

We understand that not everyone enjoys pumpkin pie.  Therefore, we  also bake wonderful Pecan Pie and festive Cherry Crumble Pie  for hungry guests.

You don't need to worry about whether you can turn out the perfect crust (or settle for a premade crust, ugh!)    We can make that perfect pie for you!!

Don't leave anyone out, let us make one of each  type of pie for your Thanksgiving table!

2.  Hot Buttery Yeast Rolls

No Thanksgiving meal is complete without one (or two!) warm yeast rolls topped with melting butter.    A yeast roll is needed to  sop up the  last of that creamy gravy!

Our yeast rolls are made with  the best in bakery flour  with just a touch of sweetness to perfectly balance  your Thanksgiving dinner.    Each batch of rolls is allowed to rise, is then hand rolled, and allowed to rise again.  After baking until lightly browned, we then top them with melted butter (no margarine here!)   in the final five minutes of baking.

Doesn't that sound delicious?    Why settle for frozen rolls from the grocery?    Why not let us  help you with this part of your Thanksgiving meal?

3.  Moist Loaves of Pumpkin Bread

Perhaps  pumpkin bread is not on your list of dishes for Thanksgiving . . . but it should be!

Pumpkin bread is so versatile!

Pumpkin bread can be served as an additional dessert at the end of your meal.  While many guests may be too stuffed to eat a full piece of homemade pumpkin pie, they will certainly appreciate being able to enjoy the fall flavor of pumpkin in a different  way.    The same whipped topping that you dollop on your pumpkin pie, can be used as a topping on a piece of pumpkin bread!    Yum!

Pumpkin bread can even be served for breakfast on Thanksgiving morning.   Offered with a  steaming cup of your favorite brew, pumpkin bread can be just enough to hold your growling  stomach over until your Thanksgiving meal is served.    Top that piece of pumpkin bread with a little melted butter, or better yet, drizzle maple syrup over the top, and enjoy a little  bit of calming quiet in the midst of your busy Thanksgiving preparations!

When a loaf of pumpkin bread is tied with a pretty ribbon, it can be offered to your Thanksgiving dinner host as a thank you gift for their wonderful hospitality.

4.  Pumpkin Shaped Iced Sugar Cookies

The children at your Thanksgiving feast will appreciate something on the dessert table for them.    Our thick sugar cookies are topped with  a perfect amount of icing, making them a perfect snack.    And these homemade sugar cookies look  so festive  !

Cookies are not only a huge favorite of children, but they will be munched on all afternoon while your crew watches football or plays table games.    After the Thanksgiving fixings are put away, it is nice to have a finger snack available for guests to enjoy.
